Local Anesthesia (Numbing)

Post Op Care

  1. Watch your child for at least 2 hours after you arrive home to insure that he or she is not biting, chewing or sucking on the inside of the cheek, lips or tongue.

  2. If your child is hungry he or she should only have foods that do not require chewing. Examples are pudding, jello, yogurt, applesauce. Do not give any other type of food until you are sure that all of the teeth and tongue are awake. Then start with a softer diet.

  3. It is a good idea to give Advil or Tylenol following the appointment to keep from having any discomfort as the local anesthetic wears off
